21 Savage Dethrones Taylor Swift on Australian Albums Chart

Taylor Swift’s dominance of Australia’s albums chart has been ended by 21 Savage’s American Dream (via Epic/Sony).

The rapper, originally from London but now based in Atlanta, sees his sixth studio album debut at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, which was published on Friday, Jan. 19, marking his first solo chart-topper.

Prior to this, ARIA reports that Savage’s highest solo album chart position was at No. 30 in 2018 with I Am > I Was, although his collaborative albums have reached the top 10.

His previous peak positions were with 2022’s Her Loss, featuring Drake (at No. 2), and 2020’s Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin (No. 4).

Several tracks from American Dream have made an impact on the ARIA Chart, including “Redrum” at No. 23 and “Née-Nah” (with Travis Scott and Metro Boomin) at No. 34.

With Savage now reigning at the top, Swift’s 11-week run with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (via Universal) has come to an end.
