Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tiwa Savage, has decided to reschedule her highly-anticipated Wembley Arena concert due to an undisclosed illness.

The concert, titled “Tiwa Savage and Friends,” was originally scheduled for November 26th. If the show goes on as planned, Savage will become the first female Afrobeats artist to headline a performance at the 13,000-capacity arena.

However, on Tuesday, Savage took to her Instagram page to announce the postponement of the show. She revealed that she has been dealing with a “virus” and has been advised to rest her voice for the next few months.

In a statement, she wrote, “To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months.” She also apologized for having to postpone all performances, including her headline arena show in London.

The singer expressed her disappointment and explained that she needed to take this time to save what’s left of her voice. She assured her fans that she would return to performing once she’s fully healed.

This year, Savage has had a successful run with several hit songs and collaborations. Notably, she performed at the coronation ceremony of King Charles, the British monarch, in May 2023.
