Kogi State Polytechnic Withdraws Students for Poor Academic Performance

Kogi State Polytechnic in Nigeria has expelled 313 students due to their poor academic performance in the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic session. The decision was made after a meeting held by the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee. The students were from 17 different departments and 28 programs. The Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, stated that this action was taken to uphold educational standards. The expelled students may now explore other career paths that better align with their interests and abilities. Nigerians have been expressing their opinions on social media about the situation.
 

Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has decided to withdraw 313 students due to their poor academic performance in the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic session.

This decision was made after reviewing reports from the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee during their meeting held on June 22, 2023, at the 200 Twin Lecture Theater, Main Campus, Lokoja.

The head of the public relations and protocol unit announced on Friday that the withdrawal affects students from seventeen (17) departments and twenty-eight (28) programs.

The Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, expressed that this action is part of the institution’s efforts to maintain high educational standards.
