Naira Marley Receives Production Warrant in Internet Fraud Case

A court in Lagos, Nigeria has issued a production warrant for popular singer Naira Marley in an internet fraud case. The warrant orders Naira Marley to appear in court on October 30, 2023, to answer charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2019. Naira Marley was previously arrested by the EFCC in May 2019 but was released on bail. He denies the allegations and claims persecution by the EFCC. The warrant was issued by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Friday, October 6, 2023.

The production warrant is an order for Naira Marley to be produced in court on October 30, 2023 to answer to charges of internet fraud.

The charges were filed against Naira Marley by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2019.

Naira Marley was arrested by the EFCC in May 2019 on suspicion of being involved in internet fraud. He was later released on bail.

The singer has denied the allegations against him. He has also accused the EFCC of persecuting him.
