Nollywood legend Iya Gbonkan has expressed disappointment at being unable to afford a car despite her contribution to the film industry. In an interview, she revealed that even though she has a reputation for her acting skills, she still uses public transport for most of her daily journeys. She asked her fans to appreciate her while she is still alive and requested a car as a gift from them. Gbonkan has also asked people to refrain from killing cows when she passes away and instead celebrate her contribution to the industry.
Nollywood veteran and icon, Iya Gbonkan expressed her disappointment in not being able to afford a car despite her successful career in Nollywood. In a recent interview, she shared her struggles even though she has been featured in the industry on several occasions.
She highlighted that despite her fame and reputation, she still relies on public transportation for her daily needs.
She also pleaded with her fans to celebrate her while she is still alive and forgo killing cows when she passes away. Finally, she appealed to her fans to gift her a car present as a token of their love for her.
In her words: “I have been acting for decades yet I don’t have a car. I jump on buses every day. If I die now, you will kill a cow. Celebrate me now that I am alive. I need a car from my fans.”
