Wizkid Mourns the Deep Pain of Losing His Mother

Wizkid, the popular musician, expressed his deep pain in the wake and tribute service for his mother, Juliana, who passed away on August 18, 2023. He described the pain as profound and the deepest he has ever felt. Despite the pain, Wizkid believes that God will bring comfort to his family and help them move forward. Juliana was laid to rest on October 13 after a church service, with tributes and a multimedia presentation honoring her life. She leaves behind four children and nine grandchildren.
 

Pop star, Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, expressed his profound pain at the loss of his mother, Juliana, who was laid to rest on August 18, 2023.

During the wake and tribute service held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos, Wizkid shared his emotions. He said, “The pain I feel is indescribable, and I know my entire family shares this pain with me. I understand that the pain cannot simply vanish, so I won’t ask for it to go away. However, I have faith that God, in His boundless mercy, will bring us comfort and enable us to move forward with our lives. This pain runs deep, it is the most profound pain I have ever experienced. I feel lost, but I pray and trust that God will provide solace for all of us.”

On Friday, October 13, the late Juliana was laid to rest after a church service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (City of David), Victoria Island.

During the funeral, Wizkid’s elder sister, Yetunde, read the first Bible passage, while Juliana’s younger brother, Olusanya Dawodu, delivered a tribute.

A multimedia presentation showcasing the life and legacy of the deceased was displayed during the service, evoking tears and intense emotions from family members and attendees.

Juliana left behind four children: Yetunde, Omolara, Olubusayo, and Ayodeji (Wizkid). In addition, she had nine grandchildren: David, Boluwatife, Iremofetide, Moyinoluwa, Modesireoluwa, Ayodeji, Ireoluwaposi, Zion, and Michael.
